Register Now For the Carrollton Trails 5K on May 4th

Lace up your shoes, leash up the dog, and jog on down for the second annual Carrollton Trails 5K run on May 4, 2013. This competitive run is open to everyone and has prizes for all categories. Runners of all ages are invited to join, and are encouraged to bring the kids and the family dog. Runners will be divided into nine groups:

  • Under 10 category
  • 11-14 category
  • 15-19 category
  • 20-29 category
  • 30-39 category
  • 40-49 category
  • 50-59 category
  • 60-69 category
  • 70 and up

Awards will be given to both men and women and each of the top three finishers of each category. As if that weren’t enough, there will also be a prize awarded to the top three dogs that are registered and the top three runners who are pushing a stroller. How long has it been since you took your pooch on a nice long run? This is a great way for him to get some exercise and attention.

Prepare to walk, jog or run along the hiking and biking trails. The event will be run downhill on a concrete course, and water will be provided at every mile for the comfort of all runners.

Schedule for Saturday, May 4th

7:00-7:45 a.m. – Registration and warm up

8:00 a.m. – 5K begins

8:30 a.m. – One mile fun walk starts         

9:00 a.m. –Awards ceremony

Entry Rules

You can register online at www.cityofcarrollton.com/signupnow or in person at the Rosemeade or Crosby Rec Centers or the Carrollton Senior Center. The fees are:

  • Individual runners – $15 if registered by April 28th and $20 day of the race
  • Family $25 if registered by April 28th and $30 day of the race
  • Dogs are $5

Parking is provided by the Creekview High School and runners will be bused to the starting line on the Blue Trail from there.

Come on down and get fit while you compete against your neighbors for some great prizes. Early registers will receive a T-shirt, timing chip, and a race bag, so even if you don’t win, you’ll still get to take home some fun prizes.
